The life vest under each seat must be checked whenever a flight leads over water and a life vest demonstration is required. therefore life vests must not only be cheched at the beginning of a rotation, but before each single leg.

All aircraft carry infants life vests for a minimum of 10% of the total seating capacity. they are meant for infants up to two years. the maximum capacity is 15 kilos. the crossair infant life vest consists of two floating chambers with inflating tubes. Each chamber has an inflation tag with a Co2 cartridge. a sealed battery provides, as soon as the sealing is removed, a sea survivor locator light. for adjustments, there is a strap system with buckles along the back an d around the waist. a lanyard is available to hold the infant in the water. all of this is stowed in a plastic bag
