To manage this situation, the Senior Management are implementing the following measures: 1) Investments directly linked to the safety and maintenance of industrial installations will be approved, while all other investments will be deferred. 2) A general expenditure review will begin immediately to reduce fixed costs. 3) A programme of cost-cutting measures will be enforced, such as recruitment freezes and non regulatory training. 4) The sales and marketing policy will be reviewed to accommodate the challenges before us. 5) Upstream plant managers will present a cost reduction strategy before month-end.
