Significantly higher MIC values were noted in Spanish strains of F. nucleatum for penicillin, ciprofloxacin, of P. intermedia for penicillin, amoxicillin and tetracycline, of M. micros for tetracycline, amoxicillin and azithromycin, and of P. gingivalis for tetracycline and ciprofloxacin. Based on breakpoint concentrations, a higher number of resistant strains in Spain were found in F. nucleatum for penicillin, amoxicillin and metronidazole, in Prevotella intermedia for tetracycline and amoxicillin, and in A. actinomycetemcomitans for amoxicillin and azithromycin. Resistance of P. gingivalis strains was not observed for any of the antibiotics tested both in Spain and The Netherlands.

The most prevalent microorganisms were Fusobacterium nucleatum (38/214), Peptostreptococcus micros (33/214), Prevotella oralis (33/214) and Porphyromonas gingivalis (32/214). Regarding antibiotic susceptibility it could be shown that minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) in all cases was below antibiotic concentrations achievable in gingival crevicular fluid. However, antibiotic resistance was seen in 3 to 29% of the investigated microorganisms.

Die häufigsten Mikroorganismen waren Fusobacterium nucleatum (38/214), Peptostreptococcus micros (33/214), Prevotella oralis (33/214) und Porphyromonas gingivalis (32/214). In Bezug auf Empfindlichkeit gegenüber Antibiotika konnte gezeigt werden, dass minimale inhibitorische Konzentration (MIC) in allen Fällen unter Antibiotika-Konzentrationen war in erreichbare Zahnfleischtaschenflüssigkeit werden. Jedoch wurde Antibiotikaresistenz in 3 bis 29% der untersuchten Mikroorganismen zu sehen.

A total of 800 isolates from patients with dentoalveolar infection (Prevotella species, Fusobacterium species, Porphyromonas species and Peptostreptococcus micros) were tested for their susceptibility to amoxicillin, amoxicillin/clavulanate, cefaclor, cefuroxime, cefcapene, cefdinir, erythromycin, azithromycin, telithromycin, minocycline, levofloxacin, clindamycin, and metronidazole using an agar dilution method.

Insgesamt 800 Isolate von Patienten mit dentoalveoläre Infektion (Prevotella Spezies Fusobacterium Spezies, Porphyromonas Arten und Peptostreptococcus micros) wurden hinsichtlich ihrer Empfindlichkeit auf Amoxicillin, Amoxicillin / Clavulansäure, Cefaclor, Cefuroxim, Cefcapenhydrochlorid, Cefdinir, Erythromycin, Azithromycin, Telithromycin, Minocyclin getestet , Levofloxacin, Clindamycin, Metronidazol und mit Hilfe eines Agarverdünnungsmethode.
