Balika Vadhu took centre-stage in national politics when members of Janata Dal(United) raised serious objections to the show's content and demanded it be taken off air. They said the serial was glorifying child marriage and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting should ban it. The show never went off air but started showing slogans at the end of each episode describing the negative effects of child marriage.

Balika Vadhu nahm Mittelpunkt in der nationalen Politik, als Mitglieder der Janata Dal(United) ernsthafte zum Inhalt der Sendung Einwände und forderte es Luft abgenommen werden. Sie sagten die serielle war verherrlichen, Kinderheirat und das Ministerium für Information und Rundfunk sollte es verbieten. Die Show nie Luft ging aber zeigte Parolen am Ende jeder Episode, die negativen Auswirkungen der Kinderheirat beschreiben.

According to the Ministry of Information, there are hundreds of independent printing presses, but already five independent publications can no longer be printed in our country; they have to be printed in Smolensk in Russia because they cannot use printing presses on Belarusian territory.

Dem Informationsministerium zufolge gibt es Hunderte von unabhängigen Druckereien, doch können bereits fünf unabhängige Zeitungen nicht mehr in unserem Land gedruckt werden; ihr Druck muss im russischen Smolensk erfolgen, weil sie die Druckerpressen auf weißrussischen Gebiet nicht benutzen können.
