However, the contact time is very brief, and the molds are at a significantly lower temperature than the glass. These conditions model the conditions during the nonisothermal glass molding process described earlier, but not the conditions during the isothermal precision glass molding process that is the focus of the current paper. Besides these glass contact tests, real molding tests are performed in Refs. 7, 17, 27, 28, and 29, partially using the isothermal process.

Testing of mechanical properties and fatigue behavior at molding temperatures can be done using nanoindentation, nanoscratch or nanoimpact tests, but requires the coating to be heated up to the molding temperature.
