There are many, many family bands, but very few of them have as much in common and yet as many differences as the members of 77 Bombay Street. The sound created by the four brothers from Scharans is reminiscent of The Beatles in their early days or the Beach Boys after a night on the drink. The combination of this sound, the inspiring mountain air, and influences from the current music scene creates the unmistakeable brand of folk rock that is the “Bombays”. All four brothers write songs, channelling their personal preferences into the band’s music This means that in this case, variety and inventiveness are not just an empty phrase, but the defining feature of this band. “Our music is a combination of folky lightness, profound song-writing, and a healthy dose of humour,” grins Matt.

I moved on. This was a very pleasant part of the ride. Not challenging, an easy ride through gentle terrain—the calm before the storm. I motored past the neat homes of Petril and Tinajitas, following a gentle valley. About 1 mile past Tinajitas the road starts to climb up to 8070’ pass of Puerto Pizaño, past another side road to the left and a huge pile of sawdust—the climb was not too steep. 2 miles past Tinajitas is the flat spot of Pizaño Pass. Here pine trees mix with madrone, fuzzy cactus, and maguey. It looked like a possible camping spot except I could see horses and remembered how last night the horses of El Mirador had moved about at all hours of the night. At 8070’ elevation I breathed cool mountain air with the smell of rain. The twin hills of Pizaño, flanking the pass, were covered with clouds. The one to the south is Cerro Pizaño, 9514’ elevation. I heard thunder.

Ich zog auf. Dies war ein sehr angenehmer Teil der Fahrt. Nicht anspruchsvoll, eine einfache Fahrt durch sanfte Gelände – die Ruhe vor dem Sturm. Ich fuhren vorbei an die nette Häuser von Petril und Tinajitas, nach einem sanften Tal. Ca. 1 Meile vergangenen Tinajitas die Straße beginnt zu klettern bis zu 8070' pass Puerto Pizaño, vorbei an einer anderen Straße auf der linken Seite und einen großen Haufen von Sägemehl — der Aufstieg war nicht zu steil. 
 2 Meilen ist vergangenen Tinajitas der flachen Stelle des Pizaño-Passes. Hier vermischen sich Kiefern mit Madrone, fuzzy Kaktus und Maguey. Es sah wie ein möglich Campingplatz außer ich, Pferde sehen konnte und erinnerte sich, wie gestern Abend die Pferde der El Mirador in allen Stunden der Nacht verschoben hatte über. Auf 8070' Höhe atmete ich kühle Bergluft mit dem Geruch von Regen. Die zwei Hügel der Pizaño, den Pass, flankierende waren mit Wolken bedeckt. Der Süden ist Cerro Pizaño, 9514' Höhe. Ich hörte Donner.
