Ascent from Information Niederthai along Horlachtal Trail (7 km) in direction Schweinfurter Hütte –> leaving behind Klein Horlachalm (1,900 m) you take the climbing trail on the left to Finstertaler Sennhütte (2,147 m) –> follow the valley bottom, heading towards the eastern basin and the summit –> finally you reach the mountain ridge –> continue on the trail until you get to its highest point (ski depot available).

Der Aufstieg erfolgt vom Informationsbüro in Niederthai über den Horlachtalweg (7 km) Richtung Schweinfurter Hütte -> nach der Klein Horlachalm (1.900 m) führt der Weg links hinauf über den ersten Hang bis zur Finstertaler Sennhütte (2.147 m) -> von dort folgt man dem Talboden und wählt den Aufstieg durch das östliche Becken direkt auf den Gifpel zu -> letztendlich gelangt man auf den Gipfelgrat (mit Skidepot) und folgt diesem bis zum höchsten Punkt.
