Today Art seems like a western twist of events on the lines of Michelet, Saint-Simon and of some ideologists of History and Progress. From the illusion of History and the myth of progress which had only experienced an heroic and brief shelf life to the tragical and caricatural paroxysm of avant-gardism which ended up with a questionning of the eighties : we called this post-modernism.

Sie erscheint uns heute wie ein Unfall im Parcours der Kunst, und beschränkt auf den Occident, in den Schritten von Michelet, Saint-Simon, und der Ideologie von Geschichte und Fortschritt. Die Ilusion von Geschichte und der Mythos des Fortschritts hatten eine kurze Karierre auf dem Feld der Kunst, und haben sich mit dem karikaturhaften und tragischen Höhepunkt der Avantgarde, die sichtbar wurde in der Verwirrung der Postmodernen, in den Achtzigern zu erkennen gegeben.
