Mariam Bawardi (1846-1878) was born in the village of Ibillin in Galilee, and founded the Carmel of Bethlehem. Marie Alphonsine Ghattas (1843-1927), was born in Jerusalem and helped to start the Congregation of the Sisters of the Rosary. Patriarch Twal has just published a pastoral Letter dedicated to the two sisters who will soon be proclaimed saints by the Church. (GV) (Agenzia Fides 23/03/2015)

Mariam Bawardi (1846-1878) wurde in Ibillin in Galiläa geboren und Marie Alphonsine Ghattas (1843-1927) stammt aus Jerusalem. Patriarch Twal widmete den beiden Ordensfrauen erst vor kurzem einen Hirtenbrief: “Die Nachricht von der Heiligsprechung der beiden Ordensfreuen”, schreibt der Patriarch “ist wie ein himmlischer Morgentau für unser Land, das nach Liebe und Gerechtigkeit dürstet”.
