Here in Europe we must consult the bodies responsible for bioethics, the Council of Europe, Unesco, the United Nations, and proclaim that we must ban all cloning of human beings, whether directly from the nuclei of embryo cells or indirectly by whatever method of asexual reproduction, using ovocytes from which the nucleus is removed as vectors and the nuclei of somatic cells as the basis of the genetic patrimony.

Wir müssen hier in der Europäischen Union die mit Fragen der Bioethik beauftragten Gremien -Europarat, Unesco, Vereinte Nationen -mit der Angelegenheit befassen; wir müssen bekräftigen, daß jegliche Klonierung menschlicher Wesen, sei es direkt aus Embryozellkernen, sei es indirekt durch jedwede Form asexueller Fortpflanzung, bei der entkernte Eizellen als Vektoren und Kerne somatischer Zellen als Träger der Erbinformationen verwendet werden, verboten werden muß.
