Before an AMA plug-in component (based on ACF) can be created and used in an Avid host application, the plug-in module and its components must be registered with the ACF host. The registration process is used to collect the minimum information necessary in order to find and create an AMA plug-in component. In order to guarantee that all components and component services are available when a particular AMA component is created, the ACF host registers all plug-in definition components before the first component is created. This enables a plug-in to create instances of other plug-in components.
