Kate de Goldi is a scholar, advocate of children’s fiction and an award-winning writer. In 2011 she won the Corine International Book Prize Young Readers Award for The 10pm Question. This multi-award winning book, described in one review as deftly told with humour, poignancy and an endearing cast of characters, has been a top-seller. In addition to fiction for children and young adults, Kate de Goldi regularly discusses children’s books on radio. She has also taught aspiring writers of children’s fiction at the International Institute of Modern Letters at Victoria University. Kate de Goldi has won numerous New Zealand awards for her writing, including the New Zealand Post Book of the Year, the American Express Short Story Award, and the Katherine Mansfield Short Story Award.
