Use of a coupling agent selected from the group consisting of silane type coupling agents, titanium type coupling agents, aluminium type coupling agents, zirconium type coupling agents and zircoaluminate type coupling agents, as a coating agent for ZnO particles to inhibit to a level of at most 2% the photocatalytic activity of those ZnO particles without negatively affecting one or more of its following properties: UV absorbing property antibacterial and anti-mold activity deodorizing activity, and good dispersability in resin, oil and fat compositions.
