The invention permits self-monitoring both in the microsynchronous components and in the asynchronous components of an integrated circuit, in particular of an ASIC module, with software and hardware faults not being discovered for the first time in a test pass, e.g. in a self-test routine, but rather immediately during operation.

Die Erfindung gestattet eine Selbstüberwachung sowohl der mikrosynchronen als auch der asynchronen Komponenten eines integrierten Schaltkreises, insbesondere eines ASIC-Bausteins, wobei Software- und Hardware-Fehler nicht erst in einem Testdurchlauf, z.B. in einer Selbsttest-Routine, entdeckt werden, sondern sofort während des Betriebs.
