As we head toward the seasonal demand peak in January and February, Europe's ability to balance with more pipeline gas will be less secure, but for October and November, real gas shortages are highly unlikely. PIRA's 10-day daily demand model shows most countries moving into a position of above normal demand for the first time in the fourth quarter.

Mansanet-Bataller et al. (2007) and Alberola, Chevallier and Chèze (2007) are the only papers where the influence of weather variables and energy prices on the determination of CO2 spot prices is analyzed by performing multivariate linear regressions. In the former, Mansanet-Bataller et al. (2007) have considered the supply of EUAs and factors that affect European CO2 production such as weather variables (temperature and rainfall) and energy-related variables (oil, gas, and coal price levels and fuel switching from coal to gas) in order to explain the main determinants of carbon price levels. Their methodology is similar to that followed in studies of determinants of other weather dependent variables such as the price level of electricity (Longstaff and Wang, 2004; Stevenson et al, 2006), the price level of gas (Bopp, 2000) and the price level of orange juice futures contracts (Roll, 1984; Boudoukh et al, 2007).

All charges that are marked as UNPREDICTABLE charges (costs that could not be agreed in advance in the Contract between Shipper and Carrier) and/or NON-CONTRACTUAL charges (spot prices), must be settled via a SCAF request. Carrier creates a SCAF, which is automatically forwarded to the correct responsible person on Shipper side. This person either approves or rejects the request. In case of an Approval, the requested charges are automatically considered during the calculation of the Freight Costs by ControlPay. This means Carrier can claim the approved SCAF charges during pre-invoicing.

Im Falle einer Zulassung werden die angeforderten Gebühren automatisch bei der Berechnung der Frachtkosten durch ControlPay betrachtet. Dies bedeutet Carrier kann die zugelassenen SCAF Gebühren während der Pre-Invoicing ist.
