Asset-backed securities wrapped by EIF are assigned its AAA/Aaa/AAA rating. EIF may conduct its activities in the territory of the European Union Member States and Candidate Countries to the European Union and in the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries. Recently, EIF has been mandated by the European Commission to participate in securitisations using EU funds from the CIP - Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme 2007-2013.

General Guidelines for the Cooperation between CEN, Cenelec and ETSI and the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association of 28 March 2003 [4] set out the partnership relationships between European standardisation bodies and the Community and the European Free Trade Association, which also provides support for European standardisation.

Fourthly, we consider that a candidate city may present a specific cultural project in association with other cities, even if a state does not belong to the European Union -maybe to the European Free Trade Association or the European Economic Area, for example -but that the city presenting the project would be solely responsible to the European Union and would hold the title of European City of Culture.

Viertens sind wir der Auffassung, daß eine Bewerberstadt ein spezifisches Kulturprojekt in Verbindung mit anderen Städte vorlegen kann, sogar aus einem Land, das nicht Mitglied der Europäischen Union ist -aus den assoziierten Ländern Mittel-und Osteuropas oder aus dem Europäischen Wirtschaftsraum beispielsweise -aber gegenüber der Europäischen Union trägt dann allein diejenige Stadt die Gesamtverantwortung, die das Projekt vorlegt und die den Titel Europäische Kulturhauptstadt bekommt.

(25) Participation in the European Year should be open to the Member States, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) States that are parties to the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement, in accordance with the provisions of that Agreement, to the candidate countries benefiting from a pre-accession strategy and countries from the Western Balkans, in line with the conditions laid down in their respective agreements, and to the countries covered by the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), in accordance with the provisions of the May 2004 Strategy Paper and the Country Action Plans.

(25) Die Teilnahme am Europäischen Jahr sollte folgenden Ländern offen stehen: den Mitgliedstaaten, den Staaten der Europäischen Freihandelsassoziation (EFTA), die Vertragsstaaten des Abkommens über den Europäischen Wirtschaftsraum (EWR) sind, nach Maßgabe dieses Abkommens, den Kandidatenländern, die im Rahmen einer Heranführungsstrategie unterstützt werden, und den westlichen Balkanländern gemäß den in den jeweiligen Abkommen festgelegten Bedingungen, sowie den Ländern, die in die Europäische Nachbarschaftspolitik (ENP) einbezogen sind, gemäß den Bestimmungen des Strategiepapiers vom Mai 2004 und den nationalen Aktionsplänen.
