Ben Horton was born in Buckinghamshire, grew up in Norfolk, went to university in Cambridge and now lives in London. When not writing, Ben runs a theatre company, enjoys cooking and watching films like Batman and X-Men. What he finds most interesting about Cameron, the central character in Monster Republic, is not that Cameron turns out to be a hero, but how close he comes to becoming a villain by turning his back on people who need him.

Ronald Bass has a law degree from Harvard University. He published three novels and then began to write successful screenplays. He now writes full-time, but he still works as a lawyer occasionally. Leonore Fleischer has worked in every area of publishing over the last twenty-five years. She has novelised approximately fifty screenplays.

Those who remain look for love in the dirt. The Birthday Boy is in a world of his own, absorbed by his own brilliance. The Star laughs at The Nobody who stumbles alone in the moonlight. The Loner watches and waits. An echo fights to be heard amongst the early morning tunes, a scattered cry of sadness drifting through the night. In that blurry time between midnight and dawn, where self interest rules, the party people sparkle as the music plays on. This project is supported by The City of Perth, The Department of Culture and Arts and The Australia Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.
