Only two yearslatr, her life ended tragically. She was flying to fly round the world, following the equator, with anothr pilot, Fred Nooman, when their plane went missing over the Pacific. They took off on the morning of 2nd July 1937 in New Guinea, and were never seen again.

Nur zwei yearslatr, beendete ihr Leben tragisch. Sie flog zu fliegen um die Welt, nach dem Äquator mit anothr Pilot Fred Nooman, als ihr Flugzeug vermisst über dem Pazifik. Sie zogen am Morgen des 2. Juli 1937 in New Guinea, und wurden nie wieder gesehen.

Pilot Uwe Thomas Carstensen (60) and his co-pilot are the 138th team to fly round the earth in a small single-engine aircraft since 1924 - the first crew from Hannover since Elly Beinhorn flew round the world in 1931/32.
