 Humble to the complexity of anaesthesia, admitting own fallibility: The anaesthetist shows humility to the complexity of anaesthesia work, admitting his/her own fallibility. He/she is aware that one never knows what will happen during an operation and shows respect for the potent drugs that he/she uses. He/she works unpretentiously and without prestige, treating other team members as peers, and is always ready to ask for help when having problems. By saying ‘I am not sure what we should do now’, the anaesthetist opens up for a dialogue, and invites other team members to give their ideas about the situation. As for practical procedures like putting in an arterial line or an epidural catheter, he/she will give up after a few attempts, asking a colleague for help. Continuing with numerous attempts is an example of being governed more by own prestige than by concern for the patient as a person.

 Humble auf die Komplexität der Anästhesie, die Zulassung der eigenen Fehlbarkeit:
 Der Anästhesist zeigt Demut zur Komplexität der Anästhesie Arbeit, seine eigene Fehlbarkeit zuzugeben. Er/Sie ist sich bewusst, dass man nie weiß, was während einer Operation geschehen und zeigt Respekt für die potente Medikamente, die er verwendet. Er/Sie arbeitet unprätentiös und ohne Prestige, Behandlung von anderen Teammitgliedern als Peers und ist immer bereit, um Hilfe zu bitten, wenn Probleme auftreten.
 Mit den Worten "Ich bin nicht sicher was wir nun tun sollten" der Anästhesist öffnet sich ein Dialog, und lädt andere Teammitglieder ihre Ideen über die Situation geben. Wie für praktische Verfahren wie wenn man in einer arteriellen Linie oder eine epidurale Katheter, wird er/Sie geben oben nach ein paar versuchen, einen Kollegen um Hilfe bitten. Weiterbildung mit zahlreichen Versuche, ist ein Beispiel für regiert mehr durch eigenes Prestige als durch die Sorge für den Patienten als Mensch.
