If, in normal operation, the level of the AdBlue solution falls to the tank minimum level, a warning symbol shows the driver that it is time to top up the AdBlue solution. If the AdBlue solution is not replenished the level sensor in the tank sends a signal to close the dosing valve. Injection of AdBlue solution into the exhaust pipe then ceases. The cooling control valve is opened and the remaining AdBlue solution in the tank is allowed to circulate and cool the dosing valve. A warning lamp (the OBD symbol) lights on the instrument panel: A warning text also indicates that the AdBlue tank is empty. A fault code is stored in the engine electronic control unit memory. When the AdBlue solution is topped up, the OBD (On Board Diagnostic) lamp and the fault message go out but the fault code is saved and can be accessed using the diagnostic instrument.

Wenn im normalen Betrieb fällt das Niveau der AdBlue-Lösung in den Tank Mindestniveau, zeigt ein Warnsymbol den Fahrer, dass es Zeit zum Nachfüllen des AdBlue-Lösung ist. Wenn die AdBlue-Lösung nicht gespeist wird der Pegel in dem Tank Sensor sendet ein Signal an das Dosierventil zu schließen. Einspritzung von AdBlue-Lösung in das Abgasrohr dann aufhört. Die Kühlsteuereinrichtung geöffnet wird und der verbleibende AdBlue-Lösung in dem Tank erlaubt zu zirkulieren und kühlen das Dosierventil. Eine Warnleuchte (die OBD-Symbol) leuchtet am Armaturenbrett: Eine Warnung Text zeigt auch, dass der AdBlue-Tank leer ist. Ein Fehlercode wird in dem elektronischen Steuereinheit gespeichert. Wenn die AdBlue-Lösung aufgefüllt wird, gehen die OBD (On Board Diagnostic)-Lampe und die Fehlermeldung aus, aber der Fehlercode wird gespeichert und können über die Diagnose-Instrument werden.
