wherewith

For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;

Denn was für einen Dank können wir Gott vergelten um euch für alle diese Freude, die wir haben von euch vor unserm Gott?

Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly.

Darum spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will an eure Kissen, womit ihr Seelen fangt und vertröstet, und will sie von euren Armen wegreißen und die Seelen, so ihr fangt und vertröstet, losmachen.

And in things subject to nature, nothing of himself only may be nourished, but when he hath destroyed that wherewith he doth participate by the order of his creation, he himself of necessity must then perish, whereof ensueth universal dissolution.

Und in Sachen unterliegen Natur, nichts von sich selbst darf nur ernährt werden, aber wenn er zerstört das, womit er doth durch die Reihenfolge seiner Schöpfung zu beteiligen hat, er selbst der Notwendigkeit muss dann untergehen, dessen ensueth universalen Auflösung.

Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

von welchem der Schnitter seine Hand nicht füllt noch der Garbenbinder seinen Arm

Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?

Siehe, so wird die Wand einfallen. Was gilt's? dann wird man zu euch sagen: Wo ist nun das getünchte, das ihr getüncht habt?

And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.

Und diesen Stab nimm in deine Hand, mit dem du die Zeichen tun sollst.

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

Darum laßt uns dem nachstreben, was zum Frieden dient und was zur Besserung untereinander dient.

Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Wie viel, meint ihr, ärgere Strafe wird der verdienen, der den Sohn Gottes mit Füßen tritt und das Blut des Testaments unrein achtet, durch welches er geheiligt ist, und den Geist der Gnade schmäht?
