daß sie kommen und alle sich legen an die trockenen Bäche und in die Steinklüfte und in alle Hecken und in alle Büsche.

And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.

HERR, bringe wieder unsere Gefangenen, wie du die Bäche wiederbringst im Mittagslande.

Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.

die Bäche entspringen in den umliegenden Höhen

the streams flow down from the surrounding heights

Siehe, er hat wohl den Felsen geschlagen, daß Wasser flossen und Bäche sich ergossen; aber wie kann er Brot geben und seinem Volke Fleisch verschaffen?"

Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?
