== Leben und Wirken ==Ramakrishnan erhielt 1971 seinen Bachelor of Science in Physik an der Universität in Baroda in Indien.

Immediately after graduation he moved to the U.S.A., where he obtained his PhD degree in Physics from Ohio University in 1976.
