Die Arbeit der Essayistin Takamine ist mir durch die Lektüre ihrer autobiographischen Essays bekannt (insb. die zweibändige Ausgabe Takamine 2012).

The work of Takamine's essays is known to me due to the reading of autobiographical essays (especially the two-volume edition, Takamine 2012).

Ein spezieller Dank geht an alle Autoren, die neben ihren täglichen Obliegenheiten im Wissenschaftsbetrieb die Zeit gefunden haben, einen Essay zu verfassen, an Lorenz Meier, der es mit seinen Illustrationen eindrücklich schafft, die beschriebenen Ideen graphisch umzusetzen und einen visuellen Kontrapunkt zu setzen, aber auch an Angela Harp, welche die deutschsprachigen Original-Essays ins Englische übersetzt und stilistisch den angelsächsischen Gepflogenheiten angepasst hat.

Thanks, also, to Lorenz Meier, who provided the impressive  illustrations to complement and provide a visual counterpoint to the ideas described, and to Angela Harp, who translated the original German essays into English and adapted their style to Anglo-Saxon practice.
