Verfahren zur Herstellung von N-Formyl-L-asparaginsäureanhydrid durch Umsetzung von L-Asparaginsäure mit Essigsäureanhydrid und Ameisensäure bei einem molaren Überschuß von Ameisensäure vom 1,05-fachen der Menge der Asparaginsäure oder mehr, wobei das Verfahren die Zentrifugation der Suspension des N-Formyl-L-asparaginsäureanhydrids nach der Reaktion in Gegenwart oder Abwesenheit eines aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffs umfaßt, während die folgenden. Stufen durchgeführt werden: (1) Beginn der Zufuhr der Suspension zu einer Zentrifugationsvorrichtung unter einem Gegendruck von 1,33 x 10 Pa (100 mmHg) oder höher; (2) Entlastung des Gegendrucks zu einem Zeitpunkt, an dem mindestens die Hälfte oder mehr der Suspension bereits zugeführt worden ist; und (3) anschließende Filtration und/oder Entwässerung des Kuchens, während der Kuchen gegebenenfalls gewaschen wird.

A method of preparing N-formyl-L-aspartic anhydride by reacting L-aspartic acid with acetic anhydride and formic acid with a molar excess of formic acid of 1.05 times the amount of aspartic acid or more, said method comprising the centrifugation of the suspension of N-formyl-L-aspartic anhydride after said reaction in the presence or absence of an aromatic hydrocarbon while conducting the following steps: (1) starting to supply said suspension to a centrifugation device under a back pressure of 1.33 x 10 Pa (100 mmHg) or higher; (2) releasing said back pressure at the time point when at least half or more of said suspension has already been supplied; and, (3) subsequently filtrating and/or dehydrating the cake while washing the cake if necessary.

Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, wobei die Reaktion von Asparaginsäure mit Ameisensäure und Essigsäureanhydrid unter Bildung von N-Formyl-asparaginsäureanhydrid durch den Einsatz von 0,9 bis 1,1 Mol Ameisensäure und 1,9 bis 2,1 Mol Essigsäureanhydrid pro Mol Asparaginsäure bewirkt wird.
