„Wie mit dem Besten, ja mit Fettigkeit, ist meine Seele gesättigt".

"I am satisfied with the best and choicest portion,"

Aber der Ölbaum antwortete ihnen: Soll ich meine Fettigkeit lassen, die beide, Götter und Menschen, an mir preisen, und hingehen, daß ich schwebe über den Bäumen?

But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

11,15 Denn wenn ihre Verwerfung die Versöhnung der Welt ist, was wird die Annahme anders sein als Leben aus den Toten? 11,16 Wenn aber das Erstlingsbrot heilig ist, so auch der Teig; und wenn die Wurzel heilig ist, so auch die Zweige. 11,17 Wenn aber einige der Zweige herausgebrochen worden sind und du, der du ein wilder Ölbaum warst, unter sie eingepfropft und der Wurzel und der Fettigkeit des Ölbaumes mit teilhaftig geworden bist, 11,18 so rühme dich nicht gegen die Zweige! Wenn du dich aber gegen sie rühmst - du trägst nicht die Wurzel, sondern die Wurzel dich.

11,15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? 11,16 If the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are too. 11,17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, 11,18 do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you.

11,16 Wenn aber das Erstlingsbrot heilig ist, so auch der Teig; und wenn die Wurzel heilig ist, so auch die Zweige. 11,17 Wenn aber einige der Zweige herausgebrochen worden sind und du, der du ein wilder Ölbaum warst, unter sie eingepfropft und der Wurzel und der Fettigkeit des Ölbaumes mit teilhaftig geworden bist, 11,18 so rühme dich nicht gegen die Zweige! Wenn du dich aber gegen sie rühmst - du trägst nicht die Wurzel, sondern die Wurzel dich. 11,19 Du wirst nun sagen: Die Zweige sind herausgebrochen worden, damit ich eingepfropft würde. 11,20 Richtig; sie sind herausgebrochen worden durch den Unglauben; du aber stehst durch den Glauben. Sei nicht hochmütig, sondern fürchte dich! 11,21 Denn wenn Gott die natürlichen Zweige nicht geschont hat, wird er auch dich nicht schonen. 11,22 Sieh nun die Güte und die Strenge Gottes: gegen die, welche gefallen sind: Strenge. Gegen dich aber Güte Gottes, wenn du an der Güte bleibst; sonst wirst auch du herausgeschnitten werden. Röm 11,15-22;
