In diesen Tagen, wo es um die Fußball-WM geht, stellt sich bei diesem Thema automatisch das Bild der Japaner ein, die wunderbar bis zum Strafraum gespielt haben, dann aber kein Tor gemacht haben. Oder das Spiel Brasilien gegen Ghana, wo die Ghanaer vielleicht das beste Bild einer afrikanischen Mannschaft abgegeben haben, aber Tore sind nicht geschossen worden.

215 der Auszubildenden wohnen, wie in Ghana üblich, in den beiden Gebäuden für männliche Jugendliche (7 Räume) und in einem Gebäude für weibliche Jugendliche (4 Räume) auf dem Gelände. Eine Küche und ein Speise- und Versammlungsraum stehen dort ebenfalls zur Verfügung. Die restlichen 293 Auszubildenden können sich das Wohnheim nicht leisten und wohnen in Wohngemeinschaften in der Stadt oder bei Familien und Verwandten, was aus unserer Sicht inklusiver ist, jedoch aus Sicht der Ghanaer eine Notlösung und damit exkludiert. 450 der Auszubildenden bekommen Verpflegung gegen Gebühr, die über den Anbau von Nutzpflanzen reduziert werden konnte. Heimfahrten finden je nach Finanzsituation und Entfernung in den drei Ferien und einmal jeweils in der Mitte der Terms (ein Term ist ein Schultrimester) statt. Die Einrichtung befindet sich in einer armen ländlichen Region.
