Die Europäische Behörde für Lebensmittelsicherheit (EFSA) hat deshalb ihr Wissenschaftliches Gremium "Kontaminanten in der Lebensmittelkette" ersucht, ein Gutachten zur Bedeutung von Lebensmitteln für die Exposition des Menschen gegenüber PFOS und seinen Salzen und zum relativen Beitrag der verschiedenen Lebensmittel und Lebensmittelkontaktmaterialien zu erstellen und Empfehlungen für weitere Schritte im Zusammenhang mit der Risikobewertung für perfluorierte organische Verbindungen abzugeben.

The European Food Safety Authority (the EFSA) therefore asked it's Scientific Panel on Contaminants in the Food chain to prepare an opinion on the importance of food and the relative contribution of the different foodstuffs and food contact materials to human exposure to PFOS and its salts and to advise on further steps in relation to the risk assessment of perfluorinated organic compounds.

Ich bin jedoch nicht dafür, nachdem wir immer für Transparenz - gerade auch im Ministerrat und sonstwo - plädieren, dass das hinter verschlossenen Türen in einem informellen Gremium geschieht, sondern dass zunächst jedes Parlament seine Meinung äußert, dass Anträge vorgelegt werden und dass man dann zu einem Ergebnis kommt.

Nevertheless, since we always argue for transparency, particularly in the Council but in other forums too, I do not think it right that an informal body should hold these discussions behind closed doors. Instead, each institution should initially express its opinion, motions should be tabled, and a solution should then be found on that basis.
