Elastischer Knorpel ist eine Form des Knorpelgewebes, die in der extrazellulären Matrix ausgedehnte Netze aus elastischen Fasern enthält. Der elastische Knorpel hat im frischen Zustand eine gelbliche Farbe, deren Intensität vom Fasergehalt abhängig ist. Die Chondrone bestehen meist nur aus einer Knorpelzelle. Die Chondrozyten sind von einer basophilen, extrazellulären Grundsubstanz, der Knorpelmatrix umgeben. In diese sind beim elastischen Knorpel zusätzlich viele elastische Fasern aus Elastin und Fibrillin eingebettet.
