Heute gibt es kaum noch Seeleute im “Haven”, wie Lemkenhafen früher meinstens im Volsmund genannt wurde, die noch mit auf großer Fahrt waren. Max Johannsen ist noch einer, der von San Franzisko aus im Beringsmeer den Walfischen mit der alten Fangmethode, der geworfenen Harpune zu Leibe ging. Er weiß noch mehr davon, als er erzählt.
