Ich will Hornissen vor dir her senden, die vor dir her ausjagen die Heviter, Kanaaniter und Hethiter.

And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.

And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

Wenn das die Kanaaniter und alle Einwohner des Landes hören, so werden sie uns umbringen und auch unsern Namen ausrotten von der Erde. Was willst du denn für deinen großen Namen tun?

For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy great name?

Nach dem Tod Josuas fragten die Kinder Israel den HERRN und sprachen: Wer soll unter uns zuerst hinaufziehen, Krieg zu führen wider die Kanaaniter?

Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them?

Und die Kinder Manasse konnten diese Städte nicht einnehmen; sondern die Kanaaniter blieben wohnen in dem Lande.

Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
