Die Haupteinkaufsmeile von Chios ist die Aplotariastraße. Ihr Name kommt vom griechischen Wort aplonoun, was „verbreiten“ heißt, weil dort die Kaufmänner einst ihre Waren ausbreiteten, um sie den Käufern zu präsentieren. Im Süden am Ende der Aplotaria liegt die Kathedrale der Agihoi Victores. Sie wurde 1881 nach einem Erdbeben erbaut.

The main commercial road of Chios is Aplotaria St., the name derives from the Greek word aplonoun (= spread out) because the old merchants were coming there to spread out their wares to show them to buyers. At the end of Aplotaria St. to the south you’ll meet the Cathedral of Aghioi Victores which was built after the earthquake of 1881.
