Geschwindigkeitssteuersystem für einen Aufzug unter Verwendung eines von einem Wechselrichter (4) angesteuerten Asynchronmotors (5), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es aufweist: eine Schlupfverarbeitungsschaltung (7), die auf ein gelesenes Gleichstromsignal anspricht, welches einen Betrag aufweist, der kennzeichnend ist für eine Gleichstromleistungseingabe in den Wechselrichter (4), um ein Schlupffrequenzsignal bereitzustellen; ein Steuergerät (6), welches auf ein Solldrehzahl-Profilsignal und das Schlupffrequenzsignal anspricht, um aus der Schlupffrequenz ein Ausgangsdrehmoment und ein Lastmoment des Motors (5) zu berechnen und die Ist-Drehzahl des Motors (5) aus den Drehmomentbestimmungen zu ermitteln, um Wechselrichterfrequenz- und -spannungssteuersignale in der Weise bereitzustellen, daß die Ist-Drehzahl mit der durch das Solldrehzahl-Profilsignal vorgegebenen Drehzahl übereinstimmt.
