die Bundeswehr erlebt derzeit die umfangreichste Umstrukturierung seit ihrer Aufstellung im Jahr 1955 und wird dabei an den sicherheitspolitischen Herausforderungen des 21. Jahrhunderts, dem demografischen Wandel sowie den finanzpolitischen Gegebenheiten ausgerichtet. Im Zuge dessen wird auch unsere Luftwaffe eine tiefgreifende Veränderung erfahren.

Als integraler Bestandteil einer nationalen Sicherheitsvorsorge wird auch die Luftwaffe weiterhin gefordert sein, Fähigkeiten zur Landes- und Bündnisverteidigung, zur internationalen Konfliktverhütung und Krisenbewältigung, zum Heimatschutz sowie zur Wahrnehmung gesamtstaatlicher Aufgaben im gesamten Intensitätsspektrum bereitzustellen. Dabei stellen die Einsätze im Rahmen der internationalen Konfliktverhütung und Krisenbewältigung an der Seite unserer Verbündeten und Partner auf absehbare Zeit die wahrscheinlicheren Einsatzaufgaben dar.
