Bei der biochemischen Untersuchung mittels Api 20 und Enterotube zeigten alle drei Stämme ein für Cronobacter spp. typisches Verhalten. Unterschiede gab es hinsichtlich der Verstoffwechslung von Sorbitol und Inositol sowie beim Lysin-Decarboxylase-Test. In Wachstumsuntersuchungen zeigte Csa 824 sowohl auf PC- und ESIA-Agar, als auch in flüssigem LB-Medium eine geringere Wachstumsgeschwindigkeit als die beiden anderen Stämme.
