Alberto Matrone, seit Jahresbeginn 2012 Nokias neuer Chef für die Region Zentral und Osteuropa mit Sitz in Wien und somit verantwortlich für 16 Länder, räumt ein, dass Nokia zu lange dem aufstrebenden IT-Konzern Apple sowie Google zugeschaut hat: "Wir haben Apple unterschätzt". Die Einprodukt-Strategie von Apple ist bisher aufgeganen. Außerdem hat Apple gleich mit dem Verkauf seines ersten iPhones einen Internet-Laden gestartet, der den Nutzern neben Musik auch diverse Applikationen anbieten konnten.
