18/44Die in Verbindung mit beginnender Nephropathie vorgeschlagenen Indikationen sind im Vergleich zu anderen ACE-Hemmern für Lisinopril spezifisch und werden genau im Einzelnen überprüft:Die substanzspezifische Dokumentation über den Effekt von Lisinopril auf Nieren-und Retinakomplikationen bei Diabetes mellitus stammt aus zwei Studien:Studie 306 (EUCLID) , die an normotensiven IDDM-Patienten (IDDM = insulinabhängiger Diabetes mellitus) durchgeführt wurde, und Studie 298 (BRILLIANT) , deren Durchführung mit hypertensiven NIDDM-Patienten (NIDDM = nicht-insulinabhängiger Diabetes mellitus) erfolgte.

20/42 Incipient nephropathy in normotensive IDDM patients (study 306) EUCLID was a European multicentre randomised trial of lisinopril (n=265) and placebo (n=265) in IDDM patients with " normotension ", defined as DBP 75-90 mmHg and SBP 155 mmHg, aged 20-59 years, with 36 years of age at onset of IDDM and need for insulin therapy within 12 months of diagnosis.
