Opernsängerinnen

Die bedeutenden, international renommierten Künstler des 19. Jahrhunderts waren: der Gitarrist und Komponist Ivan Padovec, der Violinvirtuose Franjo Krežma und die Opernsängerinnen Ilma Murska, Matilda Mallinger (trat als Eva bei der Uraufführung von Wagners Oper Die Meistersinger 1868 in München auf), Josip Kašman (der erste Kroate, der in der Metropolitan Opera auftrat, 1883 – 1884), Blaženka Kernic und Milka Trnina.

He was also the Director of the Opera and Music School of the HGZ. Franjo Ksaver Kuha?, the founder of Croatian musical historiography and ethnomusicology, collected folk songs. Among internationally renowned artists of the 19th century were the guitarist and composer Ivan Padovec, the violinist Franjo Krežma, and the singers Ilma Murska, Matilda Mallinger (who sang the part of Eva in Wagner’s opera Die Meistersinger in 1868 in Munich), Josip Kašman (the first Croat to sing for the Metropolitan, 1883–84), Blaženka Kernic and Milka Trnina.
