Was den Änderungsantrag 6 betrifft, so teilt die Kommission das Anliegen des Parlaments im Hinblick auf den Schutz des Habitats für den Komoren-Quastenflosser.

As far as Amendment No 6 is concerned, the Commission shares Parliament 's concern as regards protecting the habitat of Coelacanth in the Comoros.

Als wir das letzte Mal vor einigen Jahren über dieses Dossier abgestimmt haben, habe ich einen Änderungsantrag eingebracht und gemeinsame Maßnahmen der Europäischen Gemeinschaft und der Union der Komoren gefordert, um den „ Fish out of time“ , den Komoren-Quastenflosser( Coelacanth), zu schützen, der in den Tiefen des Meeres vor den Komoren in den 1940ern wiederentdeckt wurde, obwohl er angeblich seit zig Millionen von Jahren ausgestorben war.

The last time we voted on this subject some years ago I inserted an amendment asking for joint action between the EC and the Union of the Comoros to protect that ‘ fish out of time’ , the Coelacanth, which , although thought to have been extinct for tens of millions of years, was rediscovered in deep water off the Comoros in the 1940s.
