Mulo Francels Tenor-Saxofon ist ein Selmer Mark VI aus der Mitte der 50er Jahre.

Mulo Francel’s tenor saxophone is a rare Mark VI from the mid 1950s.

Die größeren dieser Nebenflüssen wären: erstens der zeitgenössische Jazz mit seinem klanglichen, expressiven und kompositorischen Reichtum, wie er sich etwa im Kreise der Kölner Saxofon Mafia oder im Duo Hasler Hanschel entwickelt hat; zweitens die Konzentration auf Sound und Phrasierung, die Hanschel in seinen Solo-Projekten und mit dem Trio Triosphere pflegt; drittens zeitgenössische Kammermusik, deren Horizonte er mit Musikern des Ensemble Modern im Frankfurt Contemporary Quartet ausgemessen hat. Das Projekt besteht darin, scheinbar grundverschiedene Ausdrucksweisen so zu behandeln, dass sie sich nicht übertönen oder überlagern, sondern sich anreichern und, auch daran muss gedacht werden, gegenseitig disziplinieren.

The larger of these tributaries are as follows: firstly, contemporary jazz with its tonal, expressive and compositional riches, as it has developed in the circle of the Kölner Saxophone Mafia or in the duo Hasler Hanschel; secondly, the concentration on the sound and phrasing that Hanschel has cultivated in his solo projects and with the trio Triosphere; and thirdly, contemporary chamber music, whose horizons he has gauged with the contemporary quartet Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt. The project consists of dealing with apparently diametrically opposed ways of expression in such a way that they don’t drown each other out or interfere with each other, but rather enrich each other and, one has to think of this, mutually give each other discipline.
