The concept, that is still being enhanced further till today: To build "usable multifunctional yawls", i.e. to build sailing yawls, that can be sailed sportily, however being uncomplicated to handle, easy to sail and apt as family-friendly touring boats.

Dieses Kenterverhalten zeigen beispielswei­ se alle Segeljollen und aufgrund ihrer spezifischen Bauart in der Regel auch alle Mehrrumpfsegelboote, wie Katamarane, Trimarane oder dgl.. Bei kleineren Segeljollen behilft man sich nach der Kenterung zum Aufrichten des Segelbootes damit, daß man den durch das ausgefahrene Schwert der Segeljolle gebildeten Hebelarm ausnutzt, d. h. die Besatzung des gekenterten Segelboots versucht auf das Schwert zu steigen, so daß das Segelboot sich infolge der dadurch ausgeübten Kraft aufrichtet.

This capsizing behavior is shown, for example, by all sailing dinghies and, due to their specific construction, generally also by all multihull boats, such as catamarans, trimarans, etc. With smaller sailing dinghies, one can manage to right a capsized sailboat by utilizing the leverage formed by the dropped center-board or leeboard of the sailing dinghy; in other words, the crew of the capsized sailboat tries to climb onto the leeboard so that the sailboat can right itself as a result of the force thereby exerted.

Prinzipielles Problem sämtlicher Gleitfahrzeuge ist es, das Heck während der Fahrt aus dem Wasser herausheben zu können; dies ist entweder durch formbedingten, dynamischen Auftrieb oder aber durch Auftriebshilfen wie z.B. Trimmklappen, side wedges etc., möglich. Der aus der DE-PS bekannte Bootskörper ist insbesondere für Segeljollen- oder -jachten bestimmt, also Wasserfahrzeuge ohne maschinellen Hauptantrieb, und soll übliche, hecklastige Trimmlagen im Bereich schneller Verdrängerfahrt durch ein buglastiges Trimmoment kompensieren und dadurch den Formwiderstandsanteil, der in dieser Phase zwischen Verdränger- und Gleitfahrt naturgemäß sehr groß ist, reduzieren. Gleichzeitig sollen, speziell in dem genannten Geschwindigkeitsbereich, Formwiderstandserhöhungen durch einen allzu tief getauchten Spiegel reduziert werden.

It is a basic problem of all planing vessels to lift the stern out of the water, when being under way; this is possible either by shape-conditioned, dynamic buoyancy or, however, by auxiliary lift means, such as trim flaps, side wedges etc. The boat hull known from the DE-PS is in particular destined for sailing yawls or sailing yachts, therefore for boats without engines and shall compensate common trimming by the stern in the range of high-speed displacement mode by a trim moment by the bow and shall thereby reduce the wave resistance part which in this phase between displacement mode and planing mode naturally is very great.
