In großem Umfange werden mehr oder weniger stark thixotrop eingedickte wasserbasierte Hilfsflüssigkeiten im Rahmen der Technologie geologischer und anderer Bohrungen im Erdreich, aber auch in anderem Zusammenhang, z. B. als Erdreichstütze bei Ausschachtungen, insbesondere im Schlitzwandbau, Schacht-, Brunnen- und Senkkasten-Absenkungen, bei Rohrdurchpressungen und dergleichen, verwendet. Eine Literaturstelle zur bautechnischen Anwendung thixotroper Flüssigsysteme ist beispielsweise F. Water-based auxiliary liquids thixotropically thickened to a more or less considerable extent are widely used in the technology of geological drilling and other terrestrial drilling operations and also for other applications, for example as ground supports in digging operations, more particularly in slotted wall construction; in shaft, well and caisson sinking; in the driving through of pipes and the like.
