Sophisten

Die Sophisten [46] – Protagoras, Gorgias [47], Sokrates [48], Platon [49] usw. stellten, diskutierten und lösten Probleme der spiritualistischen [50] Philosophie und vieles andere auch, als die Hellenen von Kleinasien und Griechenland gerade seit einigen Jahrhunderten der Barbarei entronnen waren.

The sophists – Photagoras, Gorgias, Socrates, Plato, etc., stated, discussed and solved the problems of the spiritualistic philosophy and many others besides: yet the Hellenes of Asia Minor and of Greece had emerged from barbarism only a few centuries before.

Die Sophisten, weil es um Griechenland geht, sind wieder an der Macht: „Ja, das ist zwar die richtige Richtung, aber es könnte besser werden“.

The sophists – for we are dealing with Greeks here – are back in power; they say, ‘Yes, it is moving in the right direction, but it could be better’.
