Alle Probanden benannten das rechte Bein als das Sprungbein.

All of the subjects used the right leg for takeoff.

Bei den Säugern Ende der Kreidezeit, sowie den meisten der heutigen Säuger sind die Hände und Füße dagegen weitgehend symmetrisch. Finger und Zehen, sowie die Mittelhand- und -fußknochen haben sich bei ihnen weitgehend einer Länge angeglichen. Die Finger und Zehen weisen eine gekrümmte Stellung auf, einen Digitalbogen. Bei Tieren mit Digitalbogen werden die Finger bzw. Zehen während des Laufens im Mittelgelenk ständig nach unten gekrümmt gehalten oder maximal gerade gestreckt, jedoch nicht nach oben überstreckt (Kümmell & Frey 2012). Das Sprungbein ist bei den Säugern ab der oberen Kreide auf das Fersenbein gewandert und das Fersenbein weist eine schmale, nach hinten gerichtete Ferse auf. Die Abrollung erfolgt nach vorne, so dass in den Gelenken von Hand und Fuß vorwiegend eine Streckung und Krümmung stattfindet und kaum Rotation und Abduktion.

At the end of the Cretaceous mammals, and most of today's mammal's hands and feet are more or less symmetrical.
