Die Punkte basieren auf meiner eigenen Erfahrung als Stadträtin in Chmelnice und auf Vorschlägen von gemeinnützigen Organisationen, und ich halte sie für entscheidend für eine effektivere und transparentere Inanspruchnahme von Mitteln aus EU-Fonds.

These points are based on my own experience as a councillor in the town of Chmelnice and on suggestions from voluntary organisations, and I consider them key to the more effective and more transparent drawdown of resources from EU funds.

Herr Präsident, heute Vormittag, vor knapp drei Stunden, hat die terroristische Organisation ETA versucht, das Leben einer sozialistischen Stadträtin von Portugalete, Ester Cabezudo, sowie ihres Begleitschutzes auszulöschen.

Mr President, this morning, just three hours ago, the ETA terrorist organisation tried to murder Ester Cabezudo, a Socialist councillor from the Portugalete Local Council, and her bodyguard.

BOZEN – Dank seiner Photovoltaikanlage und eines durch die Gebäudeluft angetriebenen Windrads wird nicht nur keine Energie verbraucht, sondern im Gegenteil Strom in das städtische Stromnetz eingespeist. Das ist der neue Wolkenkratzer (12 Stockwerke mit 50 Metern Höhe), in dem die Firma Hafner im Gewerbegebiet der früheren Magnesiumwerke im Süden von Bozen ihren Firmensitz einrichten wird. Sowohl der Planer, Fabio Rossa, als auch die Stadträtin Chiara Pasquali sprechen von einem «zukunftsweisenden Projekt». In Kürze wird die Gemeinde über das Projekt befinden.

BOLZANO - With its photovoltaic system, and a wind rotor driven by internal air flow, this modern building will not only consume very little energy, but transfer energy to the city's electric grid. We are talking about the new skyscraper (12 floors and 50 meters high) that will host the headquarters of the Hafner company in the ex Magnesium industrial area in the southern part of Bolzano. "Forward-looking ideas" is how the designer Fabio Rossa and Bolzano municipality Chiara Pasquali define the project.

Die Delegation besteht auf AdR-Seite aus vier lokalen Mandatsträgern - Teet Kallasvee, Stadtrat von Haapsalu (Estland, EVP), Sharon Taylor, Gemeinderätin von Stevenage Bo­rough (Vereinigtes Königreich, SPE), Jasmina Vidmar, Stadträtin von Maribor (Slowenien, ALDE) und Uno Silberg, Gemeinderat von Kose (Estland, EA) sowie aus zehn gewählten Mandatsträgern vom Kongress der Gemeinden und Regionen des Europarats.

Four CoR members are among the delegation of locally-elected representatives – Teet Kallasvee, member of Haapsalu Town Council (EE/EPP), Sharon Taylor, member of Stevenage Borough Council (UK/PES), Jasmina Vidmar, member of Maribor City Council (SI/ALDE) and Uno Silberg, member of Kose Municipality Council (EE/EA) – joining ten members of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
