Theodolit

Im Rahmen der nun beginnenden Freilandversuche kommen neben den Kommunikationslaut-Erzeugern PAL auch akustische Aufzeichnungsgeräte zum Einsatz, welche die Intensität und Häufigkeit der Echoortungslaute von Schweinswalen aufzeichnen. Mit Hilfe zweier neu entwickelter Funkbojen werden die Ortungslaute der Tiere drahtlos zu den Beobachtern auf dem Forschungsschiff und an Land übertragen. Die genaue Position der Schweinswale wird dabei von Land aus mit einem Gerät aufgezeichnet, das eigentlich in der Vermessungstechnik zuhause ist: einem Theodolit.
