Ich beschloss, eine Abkürzung durch ein abgelegenes Waldstück zu nehmen.

I decided to take a shortcut through a secluded wooded area.

Es ist schon ungewöhnlich: Man spaziert durch ein fast 20 Hektar großes Waldstück, und darin tummeln sich frei über 200 Berberaffen. Keine trennenden Gitter oder Gräben - der Besucher ist gleichsam Gast im Heimgebiet dieser auf- geweckten Tiere und darf sie sogar mit speziell zubereitetem, gratis ausgeteiltem Popcorn füttern.

It is unusual: You walk through a nearly 20-acre wooded area, and to romp freely about 200 monkeys. Not separated by fences or ditches - the visitor is like a guest in the home territory of this on-aroused animals and may even feed them with specially prepared, ausgeteiltem free popcorn.
