Nach dem Abkuehlen mit 50 ml Wasser verduennen und erkalten lassen . Diese Fluessigkeit ueber Trichter E in Waescher B geben . 40 bis 50 ml 30 % ige Natronlauge zugeben , um die Fluessigkeit zu alkalisieren und den Ammoniak durch Wasserdampfdestillation auszufaellen ; das Destillat in 5 ml Borsaeureloesung , die zuvor mit 10 ml Wasser in den Erlenmeyerkolben gegeben wurde , auffangen , wobei das Ampullenende in die Fluessigkeit tauchen muss . 1 oder 2 Tropfen Mischindikator zugeben und 70 bis 100 ml Destillat auffangen .

Tocopherol wird in einer in dem Dokument DE 31 26 110 A1 beschriebenen Variante nach einer Veresterung der freien Fettsäuren mittels mehrwertiger Alkohole einer Molekulardestillation oder einer Wasserdampfdestillation unterworfen, um ein Destillat mit einem hohen Tocopherolgehalt zu erhalten.

In a variant described in DE 31 26 110 A1, tocopherol is subjected to molecular distillation or to steam distillation after esterification of the free fatty acids with polyhydric alcohols in order to obtain a distillate having a high tocopherol content.
