Ausgewählte, leicht zugängliche Phänomene in der Flüssigkeitsdynamik, Magnetohydrodynamik und Plasmaphysik werden diskutiert. Anwendungen sind beispielsweise Wirbelringe, Van Allen Gürtel, Plasmaeinschluss bei der Kernfusion, Akkretionsscheiben neugeborener Sonnensysteme, galaktische Magnetfelder, Bänder und Windströmungen auf dem Jupiter. Außer für plasma- und astrophysikalisch interessierte Hörer dürfte die Vorlesung auch zur Festigung und Veranschaulichung von Basiswissen über Flüssigkeitsmechanik, Elektrodynamik, theoretische Mechanik und klassische Thermodynamik interessant sein. Die Vorlesung stellt damit den ersten Teil einer Einführung in die theoretische Plasmaphysik an Hand interessanter Problemstellungen dar.

Selected, accessible phenomena in fluid dynamics, magnetohydrodynamics and plasma physics are discussed. Applications include vortex rings, Van Allen Belts, plasma confinement in fusion, accretion disks newborn solar system, galactic magnetic tapes and wind flow on Jupiter.
