Er entdeckte, dass auch anderswo gejodelt wird - im Norden Europas, in der Mitte Afrikas, in der Südsee. Seine Mitbringsel flicht er in die Stücke ein, rhythmisch, melodisch, textlich - vom Indianergeheul über arabische Rhythmen bis hin zum Mundart-Gedicht, in Dada-Silben-Stakkato verhackstückt, das sich wohl irgendwo sogar reimt.

He discovered that people yodel elsewhere too - in northern Europe, in the middle of Africa, in the South Pacific. He incorporates his fairings into his pieces, rhythmically, melodically, lyrically - from Indian howling and Arabian rhythms to dialect poems, torn to pieces in Dada syllable staccato so that they even rhyme.

Mein Vater spielte damals viel mit der Handorgel. Das faszinierte mich! Ich war auch schon im Jodelverein und habe „gejodelt“, oder sang im Kirchenchor. Als ich 19 war, kaufte ich mir dann den ersten Synthesizer. Bis dahin habe ich nie Musik auf einem Instrument gespielt!

That fascinated me. I was also a member of a Yodel Club where I yodelled or sang at the Church choir. At 19 I bought my first Synthesizer. Until then I had not played any music instrument.
